Off Campus Season 2 — Everything We Know And Why We’re Already Losing Our Minds Over It

There’s something genuinely rare about a show that arrives on a streaming platform and within days feels like it’s everywhere. In your group chats. On your For You page. In conversations at work where someone says “have you seen Off Campus yet” with the kind of urgency usually reserved for emergencies. That was May 2026. That was Prime Video’s Off Campus — and if you were anywhere near the internet when it dropped, you already know exactly what I’m talking about.

Now the question everybody wants answered is simple. When are we going back to Briar University? And what is waiting for us when we get there?

Here is everything we know right now about Off Campus Season 2, broken down properly, with no filler and no unnecessary waffle — just the actual information fans have been desperately hunting for since they finished the last episode of Season 1 and immediately wanted to throw their remote at the wall.

Yes, It’s Happening — And Prime Video Didn’t Even Wait

Let’s get the most important thing out of the way first. Off Campus Season 2 is confirmed, it is in production right now, and it is coming. Prime Video made the renewal official back on February 12, 2026 — which was three full months before the first season even premiered on May 13. Three months. They didn’t wait for ratings, they didn’t wait for reviews, they didn’t wait to see whether the internet would care. They just looked at what they had, decided it was worth betting on early, and pulled the trigger.

That kind of confidence from a streamer doesn’t happen by accident. Prime Video had clearly seen enough in early screenings and fan engagement data to know that Off Campus was going to be something special. And they were right. The show debuted to enormous acclaim — a 93% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes from critics — and immediately shot to the top of Prime Video’s global Top 10. Social media was completely swallowed by it for days. The renewal wasn’t a surprise. It was inevitable.

Peter Friedlander, Amazon MGM Studios’ Head of Global Television, said in the renewal announcement that Off Campus captures the kind of emotionally charged, character-driven storytelling that resonates with a global audience, and expressed full confidence in showrunner Louisa Levy’s handling of the adaptation. Reading between the lines of that statement, it essentially translates to: we knew this was going to work, we renewed it before it aired because we believed in it, and we were right.

When Is Season 2 Actually Coming Out?

This is the question. And the honest answer is that Prime Video hasn’t locked in an official premiere date yet — but we have a very strong idea based on the production timeline.

Filming for Season 2 began on June 1, 2026 and is scheduled to run through September 18, 2026, back in Canada where Season 1 was filmed. The production schedule is almost identical to Season 1, which filmed from June through October 2025 before landing on Prime Video in May 2026. If Season 2 follows that same pattern — and everything suggests it will — then the most realistic premiere window is somewhere between April and June 2027. May 2027 seems like the sweet spot most people are pointing to, and it would make a lot of sense for Prime Video to keep the show on a consistent annual schedule.

What’s genuinely reassuring is that showrunner Louisa Levy confirmed in a Variety interview on the day of the Season 1 premiere that all eight scripts for Season 2 were already written before filming began. That’s not a small thing. A show where the entire season exists on the page before a camera rolls is a show with real creative direction — and it means the production isn’t scrambling to figure out what happens while they’re in the middle of filming it.

The New Love Story — Dean and Allie Are Taking Over

If there’s one shift from Season 1 to Season 2 that has fans of both the show and Elle Kennedy’s original book series genuinely buzzing, it’s this one. Season 2 is moving the romantic spotlight from Garrett and Hannah to Dean Di Laurentis and Allie Hayes.

In Season 1, Dean — played by Stephen Kalyn — was this magnetic, slightly infuriating presence on the edges of the story. He was charming in that way that makes you not fully trust someone while simultaneously wanting to watch them in every scene. Allie, played by Mika Abdalla, was Hannah’s charismatic, theatrical best friend — the one who made you laugh but also gave you the feeling there was a lot more going on underneath. Both characters were clearly being set up for something bigger, and Season 2 is where that something arrives.

Prime Video made the announcement official in late May with a clip and photos of Abdalla and Kalyn, accompanied by the caption: “One couple made a deal. The next one is keeping the score. From Garrett and Hannah to Dean and Allie — the Off Campus love story continues in Season 2.” Which, for those keeping track of the books, is a very deliberate play on the titles of The Deal and The Score from Elle Kennedy’s series.

Louisa Levy also put out a statement confirming the shift, and importantly took a moment to reassure fans who fell in love with Hannah and Garrett in Season 1. She said clearly that they will still be an integral part of the ensemble in Season 2 — they’re not disappearing, they’re just stepping slightly to the side while Dean and Allie step forward. For a show built on the idea of an ensemble hockey team where every player eventually gets their story told, that’s exactly the right approach.

What Book Is Season 2 Based On?

For viewers who haven’t read Elle Kennedy’s Off Campus series, here is the short version: the show is working its way through a series of books where each instalment focuses on a different player from Briar University’s hockey team and the woman he falls for. Season 1 was based primarily on The Deal, which is Garrett and Hannah’s story. Season 2 is expected to adapt The Score, which is Dean and Allie’s book.

The interesting thing about Season 2 is that Off Campus actually introduced Dean and Allie’s dynamic during Season 1 already — it was threaded through as a secondary storyline in a way that was very clearly deliberate. The show used the first season to plant seeds for the second, which is smart television writing and also very close to how Bridgerton operates. You get invested in the characters before their season even begins.

The Score in the books follows Allie as she deals with a breakup, ends up connecting with Dean after a night out, and the two of them gradually move from reluctant friendship into something much more complicated and emotionally real. The show has already diverged from the book in some interesting ways — most notably with the Season 1 finale’s shocking bar fight between Dean and Hunter Davenport, which doesn’t happen in The Score at all. In the books, Dean and Hunter actually have a warm mentor-mentee relationship. The show making them rivals heading into Season 2 is a genuinely bold creative choice that opens up a lot of new dramatic territory.

There’s also the question of whether Season 2 will begin seeding Logan and Grace’s romance — the love story from Book 2, The Mistake — as a secondary storyline, the same way Dean and Allie were woven through Season 1. Based on the casting news coming out of the production, that looks very likely.

The Cast — Who’s Back, Who’s New, And Who’s Heartbreakingly Gone

The main ensemble is largely returning. Ella Bright as Hannah Wells and Belmont Cameli as Garrett Graham are both confirmed back — which will make Season 1 fans very happy. Antonio Cipriano as John Logan and Jalen Thomas Brooks as Tucker are returning as well. Charlie Evans as Hunter Davenport is expected back given where the finale left things, and Khobe Clarke as Beau Maxwell seems likely to return too — though both are still to be officially confirmed by Prime Video at time of writing.

The painful absence is Josh Heuston, who played Justin Kohl in Season 1. Heuston himself confirmed he won’t be returning for Season 2. Levy has been careful about how she talks about this — she’s said she loves Heuston and wouldn’t rule out finding a way to bring Justin back in a future season, particularly noting that his eventual love interest Stella from the books hasn’t even been introduced yet. But for Season 2, he won’t be there. It’s one of those losses that stings a little, even if the creative reason is understandable.

On the new additions front, this is where things get genuinely exciting.

India Fowler has been cast as Grace Ivers, the female lead of The Mistake — Logan’s love story. Antonio Cipriano, who plays Logan, actually revealed the casting himself in a sweet social media clip where he personally invited Fowler to join the Vancouver production. Grace only gets a brief mention in Season 1, but having Fowler officially cast and on set means her story is being set up deliberately and carefully. If the show follows the same pattern as Season 1 — where a future couple is introduced in the background before their season begins — then expect Grace and Logan to have a meaningful presence in Season 2 before their full story takes over in Season 3.

Phillipa Soo — the Broadway legend, the original Eliza Hamilton, the Doctor Odyssey star — is joining the cast as Scarlett, a theatre artist who arrives at Briar University to guest-direct an original play in the drama department. Casting someone of Soo’s profile and talent in this role is a significant statement. Scarlett will clearly be woven into Allie’s world in a meaningful way, and having a performer of Soo’s calibre bringing her to life is the kind of casting that makes a show feel like it’s operating at a higher level.

And then there’s the most recent addition — announced in August 2026 — which is Shay Rudolph joining the cast as Summer Di Laurentis, Dean’s younger sister. Rudolph is best known from Netflix’s The Baby-Sitters Club where she played Stacey McGill, and she has also appeared in Lethal Weapon and has an upcoming comedy called She Keeps Me Young. Prime Video announced her casting with a brilliantly cheeky video of Rudolph and Stephen Kalyn doing a social media challenge together, captioned “Double it and give it to Season 2. Everyone say hi to Shay Rudolph as our Summer Di Laurentis.”

For readers of Elle Kennedy’s spinoff Briar U series, the introduction of Summer is loaded with potential. If you know what happens between Summer and one particular member of the hockey team in those books, you will understand immediately why bringing her into the world now — before her own story begins — is such a clever piece of long-game storytelling.

What’s Actually Going To Happen In Season 2?

Beyond the Dean and Allie central romance, Season 2 has a lot of individual character story to work through. Allie as a senior is trying to figure out what her life looks like after Briar University — her path as an actress, her identity outside of relationships, her relationship with her father whose health is declining. These are real, grounded emotional storylines that give Mika Abdalla a huge amount to work with beyond the romance.

Dean has his own complicated history — a feud with coach Frank O’Shea that has roots going back further than Season 1 shows, a backstory with a high school girlfriend that shaped who he became, and the weight of his family dynamic that Summer’s arrival in the story will bring to the surface. Stephen Kalyn has been doing a lot with relatively little screen time so far. Season 2 hands him the keys entirely.

And then there is the Dean and Allie romance itself — which in the books takes a genuinely devastating turn involving tragedy and loss that will test everything about their connection. Season 1 made people fond of certain characters for a reason. Beau Maxwell fans especially may want to have something nearby to hold onto.

The Bottom Line

Off Campus arrived in May 2026 and immediately felt like the romance show people had been waiting years for. It was smart, it was funny, it was genuinely moving in places, and it was built on characters that felt like real people making real mistakes in a world that felt lived-in and warm.

Season 2 is filming right now in Canada. Dean and Allie are front and centre. Phillipa Soo is on campus. Shay Rudolph is Dean’s little sister. India Fowler is setting up what might become the show’s most beloved love story yet. And Louisa Levy has eight scripts written and a plan she is clearly very confident about.

May 2027 cannot come fast enough. 🏒❤️

Off Campus Season 2 is currently in production and expected to premiere on Prime Video in Spring 2027. Season 1 is streaming now.
