MediaAtLife DMCA and Copyright Policy

Effective date: July 11, 2026
Last updated: July 11, 2026

MediaAtLife respects intellectual property rights and expects contributors and users to do the same.

This page explains how copyright owners may report material they believe infringes their rights.

Copyright Ownership

Original articles, graphics, branding and other material created by MediaAtLife are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Some articles may also contain material owned by third parties, including:

  • Properly licensed images
  • Press material
  • Short quotations
  • Embedded social media posts
  • Video embeds
  • Public statements
  • Material used for reporting, criticism or commentary

Third-party ownership remains with the respective copyright holder.

Before Sending a Complaint

Before submitting a takedown request, please consider whether:

  • You own or are authorised to represent the copyright owner
  • The material is actually hosted by MediaAtLife
  • The material is an external embed or link
  • A licence or permission exists
  • The use may be permitted by applicable copyright law
  • A correction to the credit would resolve the concern

A disagreement with an article does not by itself create a copyright claim.

Copyright Notice

To report alleged infringement, email:

copyright@mediaatlife.com

Use the subject line:

Copyright/DMCA Notice – MediaAtLife

Your written notice should include:

  1. Your full legal name and contact information.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
  3. The exact MediaAtLife URL containing the disputed material.
  4. A clear description of the material you want reviewed or removed.
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or applicable law.
  6. A statement that the information in the notice is accurate.
  7. A statement, made under penalty of perjury where applicable, that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act for the owner.
  8. Your physical or electronic signature.

Incomplete notices may delay our review.

What Happens After a Notice?

After receiving a sufficiently detailed complaint, MediaAtLife may:

  • Request more information
  • Review the page and available licences
  • Correct an attribution
  • Temporarily restrict access
  • Remove the disputed material
  • Contact the contributor
  • Forward relevant parts of the notice to the person who supplied the material
  • Decline the request when no infringement is established

Submitting a notice does not guarantee removal.

Counter-Notice

A person whose content has been removed may submit a counter-notice when they believe the material was removed because of mistake or misidentification.

A counter-notice should include:

  1. The sender’s full name and contact information.
  2. Identification of the material that was removed.
  3. The URL where the material appeared.
  4. A statement under penalty of perjury that the material was removed because of mistake or misidentification.
  5. Any jurisdictional consent required under applicable law.
  6. The sender’s physical or electronic signature.

Counter-notices may be shared with the original complainant as required or permitted by law.

False or Misleading Notices

Knowingly submitting a false copyright notice or counter-notice may have legal consequences.

Do not use copyright procedures to:

  • Suppress accurate criticism
  • Remove an unfavourable news article
  • Claim ownership of material you do not own
  • Impersonate a copyright holder
  • Intimidate a writer or source

Repeat Infringement

Where appropriate, MediaAtLife may restrict or terminate access for contributors or users who repeatedly submit infringing material.

Images and Credits

For an incorrect or missing image credit, email copyright@mediaatlife.com with:

  • The article URL
  • Proof of ownership or authorised representation
  • The correct credit
  • Any relevant licence information

When appropriate, correcting the credit may resolve the matter without removing the image.

copyright@mediaatlife.com

Please explain:

  • Which material you want to use
  • How it will be used
