MediaAtLife Editorial Policy

Effective date: July 11, 2026
Last updated: July 11, 2026

This Editorial Policy explains how MediaAtLife selects, researches, writes, reviews and updates its content.

Our editors and contributors are expected to follow these standards whenever they create content for our website or official social media accounts.

Our Editorial Priorities

Our main editorial priorities are:

  1. Accuracy
  2. Clarity
  3. Fairness
  4. Transparency
  5. Appropriate sourcing
  6. Timely corrections
  7. Respect for readers and subjects

Being first is less important than being accurate. We may delay publication when important details cannot be verified.

Story Selection

MediaAtLife covers stories we believe are relevant to readers interested in entertainment, television, streaming, movies, celebrity news, popular culture and online trends.

A story may be selected because it is:

  • Timely
  • Newsworthy
  • Widely discussed
  • Connected to an ongoing story
  • Useful to our readers
  • Based on a significant public statement
  • Part of a larger cultural or entertainment trend

Popularity alone does not make a claim true.

Sources

We give preference to primary sources, including:

  • Official announcements
  • Direct interviews
  • Public records
  • Verified company or production accounts
  • Statements from authorised representatives
  • Original video or audio
  • Court or government documents
  • Official event material

We may also use established news organisations, trade publications, reputable local reporting and specialist publications.

When another publication first reports a significant story, we credit that publication where appropriate.

Anonymous Sources

MediaAtLife generally prefers named and attributable sources.

An anonymous source may be used when:

  • The information is genuinely newsworthy
  • The source is in a position to know the information
  • Revealing the source could expose them to a realistic risk
  • The information can be supported by documents or additional sources
  • An editor approves the use of anonymity

We do not provide anonymity simply to allow someone to make unsupported personal attacks.

Headlines and Thumbnails

Headlines and thumbnails should accurately represent the article.

We avoid headlines that:

  • Make a claim the article does not support
  • Present rumours as facts
  • Exaggerate a minor development
  • Misrepresent a quotation
  • Create a false impression of death, arrest, cancellation or separation
  • Use unrelated images to suggest involvement
  • Hide important context purely to attract clicks

A headline may be engaging, but it must remain truthful.

Rumours and Developing Stories

Entertainment stories often develop through casting reports, anonymous production sources, social media posts and fan speculation.

When covering uncertain information, we clearly use terms such as:

  • Reportedly
  • According to the publication
  • Unconfirmed
  • Alleged
  • Expected
  • Rumoured
  • Has not been officially announced

We update the article when an official confirmation, denial or meaningful new detail becomes available.

Quotations

Quotations should reflect what the speaker actually said.

We may make small edits for spelling, punctuation or readability, but we do not alter the meaning. When a quote has been translated, edited for length or taken from another interview, we identify the source and context where appropriate.

Right of Reply

When an article contains a serious allegation about an identifiable person or organisation, we may contact the subject or their representative for comment before publication.

A refusal to comment does not prevent publication when the information is well supported and newsworthy.

When a response arrives after publication, we may update the article.

Images and Video

We use images and video that we:

  • Own
  • Have permission or a licence to use
  • Receive from an authorised source
  • Embed through an approved platform
  • Believe can lawfully be used for reporting, criticism or commentary

Image captions and credits should be added when required.

We do not knowingly alter an editorial image in a way that misrepresents a real event. Illustrations, composites and AI-generated visuals should be labelled when their realistic appearance could confuse readers.

Artificial Intelligence

MediaAtLife may use digital or artificial-intelligence tools to assist with tasks such as:

  • Transcription
  • Translation
  • Grammar review
  • Headline suggestions
  • Research organisation
  • Image resizing
  • Caption preparation
  • Content formatting

AI-generated output is not automatically treated as verified information.

A human editor remains responsible for reviewing factual claims, sources, quotations, names, dates and context before publication.

We do not knowingly use AI to invent interviews, quotations, eyewitness accounts or sources.

Sponsored and Affiliate Content

Sponsored articles, paid partnerships and affiliate content must be clearly identified.

Commercial partners do not receive the right to:

  • Approve independent editorial coverage
  • Prevent legitimate criticism
  • Demand a positive review
  • Conceal a paid relationship
  • Present advertising as impartial reporting

Conflicts of Interest

Writers and editors should disclose financial, professional or personal relationships that could reasonably affect their coverage.

Where a conflict cannot be appropriately managed, the story may be assigned to another contributor or not published.

Updates and Corrections

Articles may be updated to:

  • Add a response
  • Include new confirmed information
  • Clarify confusing language
  • Correct an error
  • Replace a broken source
  • Improve context
  • Reflect a developing event

Significant factual corrections are handled under our Corrections Policy.
